What to tweet on #IrlDay? 23 May 2011

Throughout the 23rd of May, Twitter users will be tweeting on all things Irish. If you’d like to join the conversation, end all your tweets with #irlday. We would like you to consider tweeting about your favourite Irish things and have created specific hashtags that allow us compile these things via this blog and Twitter. For example:

  • For your favourite Irish sport, sporting moment or event, use the hashtag #irlsport e.g. “My favourite Irish sporting event is the All Ireland Hurling Final #irlday #irlsport
  • For your favourite Irish song, musician or musical group, use the hashtag #irlsong e.g. “My favourite Irish song is The Irish Rover #irlday #irlsong
  • For your favourite piece of Irish art or artist, use the hashtag #irlart e.g. “My favourite Irish painting is A Horseman Enters a Town at Night by Jack B Yeats #irlday #irishart
  • For your favourite Irish actor, actress or Irish movie #irlmovie e.g. “My favourite Irish movie is The Quiet Man #irlday #irlmovie
  • For your favourite Irish poem or poet, use the hashtag #irlpoem e.g. “My favourite Irish poem is Digging by Seamus Heaney #irlday #irlpoem
  • For your favourite Irish play or playwright, use the hashtag #irlplay e.g. “My favourite Irish play is Philadelphia, Here I Come by Brian Friel #irlday #irlplay
